We all claim ourselves to be free, independent and qualified section of the society with some fixed laws and orders. Nevertheless, the question is what if we are bound to go against this laws and orders. The chances are that we might be accounted as an un-identified object that does not fit into the set frames set within the society. Therefore, we are living in the world where our choices are guided, and our thoughts are barricaded with some fixed ideologies of the society where revolting back or being odd one in the crowd is the act of offence.

When we have equal right for our choices and speech then why a child is not given an options to choose their own identity once they are capable to make their judgement regarding their sex. Is it justified to wrap them in pink or blue cloths, based on the organ hanging between their legs? More than 500 animal species have homosexual or bisexual orientations. Apart from this, more than 65,000 animal species that are born intersex who are either with an absence or with the combination of male and female reproductive organ, sex hormones or sex chromosomes. Accordingly, there are fishes such as Kobudai who are capable of changing their sex at some point of their life, which is a very normal biological process from them. Similarly, clownfish also tends to change from male to female and potentially switch for several times. Is their world any different from human world? Ironically, their kingdom seem more advanced and educated…Isn’t that so?

Our highly advanced medical science and biological science often try ignoring the sex difference beyond the differences in a gonad, due to which society today are resistant to accept the fact beyond the binary division. In order to make one self fit into the frames of this binary division, aren’t we compromising with our own feelings and choices? Before understanding the answer to this question, it is necessary for us to realise one thing and that is to ask ourselves if our gender identity is enough to define our feelings and thoughts or are we just trying to force our preferences based on the laws directed by binary society. Further, even if you are capably accustomed to the frames of binary division and eventually are accepted in the society…But does their acceptance offer you equality? Similarly, your chosen gender identity may have been accepted in the society. However, does that make you equal before them?

P.S: stay tuned for revealing the truth behind sex, gender and sexuality….
